Is product liability a tort?

Some people would ask me, “is product liability a tort?” Product liability is a fancy way or a legal term for cases in which there is a dangerous product that has injured someone. All a tort is, is a word for injury. When we talk about product liability cases, yes, a product liability case is a tort. It’s an injury case. It is a case in which a dangerous product has injured someone.

That could be any type of product. It could be a dangerous drug or a medication that caused a side effect that was not disclosed to someone. It could be a medical device that has caused someone injury. It could be a defective ladder that collapses when someone falls off of a ladder.

If you think you may have been injured by a defective product, whether that be a drug or a medical device or even a product around your house, call us because we can review that case. From there, we can tell you, potentially, whether the product was defective or dangerous and whether you have a legal case against that company for causing that injury because of the defective product.
